What a disaster. The GOP's failure in the midterms is the equivalent of partying all night, driving home, and drunkenly getting into a car accident that leaves you a quadriplegic. Perhaps the greatest rise and fall in politics.
What many called a “red wave” turned out to be the biggest blowout against Republicans since 2006. 2006 was considered the greatest Democratic Party success of modern history, and this is larger.
The Democrats took the House and the Senate and flipped multiple swing states that Donald Trump handily won in 2024. As I write this, Democrats won 54 Senate seats, 228 House seats, and 28 Gubernatorial races, including solid red Texas and Ohio.
To be clear, this isn’t an article to bash the “planicans” or mock MAGA. My goal is to explain why the midterms turned out the way they did. I could write a lot on that, but I want to address the politics of the “how.”
This group of people spent years giving any critics pure condescension. They dedicated themselves to infighting, rather than fighting the left, despite supposedly being the “adults in the room.”
My bona fides are clear: I predicted everything before it happened. The only exception is Iran, which everyone knew was an issue. Every prediction I made landed, yet I was viciously attacked for pointing out the truth.
I said the right wasn’t taking it seriously enough; I was right.
I pointed out that MAGA had discouraged its core base, young White men, by hurting them economically, then exit polling showed young White men shifted to +17 Democrat when it was +28 Trump in 2024.
I talked about how spouting “go to the polls for Charlie Kirk” would implode in the GOP’s face; those results are evident.
I showed great dismay at MAGA wasting energy boosting Vivek Ramaswamy in his campaign, particularly as he released a pro-child rape ad. Amy Acton was the first Democratic Governor in Ohio in 20 years.
Not to beat up on them too much, but to illustrate, the MAGA influencer class failed and got it wrong: from Captive Dreamer to Christian Heiens to John Doyle to Red Eagle Politics to Benny Johnson to Matt Forney to Jack Posobiec to Fugitive Caesar to nearly the entirety of Turning Point USA.
The entire supposed right-wing intellectual vanguard was bamboozled. They put their credibility on the line and lost, bigly.

Despite the “wishful thinking” of the influencer class, the GOP got obliterated. The key detail there is that President Donald Trump was more in touch with this reality than the Trumpist vanguard. Trump repeatedly asserted that he knew they’d lose the midterms, because duh.
Without a miracle the world was unwilling to give, this fate was somewhat inevitable. The numerous missteps only compounded the beatdown, particularly the GOP’s insistence on Vivek. Sorry, but is winning the Ohio governor race really more important than the House or Senate?
Despite what drug addict, deadbeat dad Curtis Yarvin’s ketamine fueled delusional rants will tell you, the answer as to what happened is quite simple. This isn’t an existential philosophical reexamination of the nature of Republicanism.
To quote my dear friend, Captive Dreamer, now down 4k, it was a “generational disaster.” Like Chernobyl, someone needs to clean up that mess.

The Five Reasons
I would give 5 main reasons: a focus on the GOP’s failure to appeal to White people (specifically young men), foreign policy, failing domestic policy, the horrible response from the GOP to Charlie Kirk's murder, and MAGA’s struggle with its identity via nihilism.
Additionally, backing Vivek was a train wreck, but it was more symbolic than existential. If the online GOP didn’t back Vivek, the midterms would have been similar, if not slightly better, for them.
The Failure To Win Whites
A brutal blackpill: no matter how bad the GOP platform could have been, if they simply appealed to White people, particularly White men, they would have won.
Unfortunately for the GOP, and fortunately for its critics, the GOP ran a transparently anti-White campaign after the 2024 election. Obviously, Democrats are not pro-White, but they learned their lesson to shut up.
As of a month ago, you had Sarah Huckabee Sanders posting vile ads attacking White people as lazy welfare queens. What message does this send to young White men?
The GOP could worship Israel, engage in pointless foreign wars, and drive up costs on everything—they still would have won!
Of course these issues are tied, but if the GOP made an effort to appeal to Whites and explicitly bring young White men into the fold, that question is up for debate.
The years-long lecturing about “panicans” and “groypers” backfired harder than anyone could have imagined. Rather than building a coalition and uniting the right, MAGA sought to tear down its rebellious brothers-in-arms.
Scapegoating young White men is a losing electoral strategy.
That’s simply not how politics is done. You build a big coalition, not alienate anyone with a disagreement. Often, MAGA put its own infighting above fighting the left.
This was made manifest after the Charlie Kirk killing, when Captive Dreamer immediately advocated for groypers to be doxed before the left. Later on, Captive Dreamer went on a doxing campaign against “panicans” unaffiliated with groypers.
Regardless of that, the candidate that the GOP decided to run in Ohio was the most anti-White scumbag ever to grace the modern right. Vivek openly bashed “Native Americans” (Whites) as lazy and inferior to his caste.
Weeks before the midterms, you had GOP candidates openly declaring, “I don’t fucking like White people.” Let's imagine for a second if we had a Democrat saying this; Fox News would be playing this clip on repeat.
Wait, I thought the Democrats were the “kill White people party,” so how come it’s the GOP openly spewing anti-White vitriol?
Personally, I’m among this cohort of young White men. My vote is tied to the White race
Let me make this crystal clear: America is a White nation. The GOP is a White party. If you betray our race, you are NOTHING. A traitor is worse than an enemy.
The White race is here to stay; if you fuck around with us, if you do something bad to us, we are going to do things to you that have never been done before.
Foreign Policy Fumbles
On foreign policy, this sealed the fate of the midterms, above all else, because it became a proxy for those other elements. A hostile foreign state across the world was given the keys to America's economic engine at the most critical juncture.
This was the political equivalent of giving a monkey a loaded gun.
The American people's wallets, the famed American military, and America's sacred national security are now all at risk. American supremacy has never been more disputed, in this case at the hands of a backward “third worldist” pariah state.
Nobody even remembers Venezuela or cares; any success in that theater has been overshadowed. Venezuela's results have yet to appear.
Not only that, but what was the fabled crown diamond of South America ended up being a hypnotic cubic zirconia. It gave the Pentagon and military brass a dangerous false confidence.
Half the GOP says we're winning the war in Iran; the other half says there's no war. The GOP can't decide if the Strait of Hormuz is truly open or the Iranians need to be punished more.
Nobody voted for war in Iran, and the apprehension by a portion of the GOP to admit that gives away the game.
The very basis of Trumpism was a rejection of Bushism, or what’s now called “RINOs.” Donald Trump gained a foothold by calling out the Bush family, specifically Jeb Bush, and forcing the topic of Iraq on him.
Even if the war was going swimmingly, it's an extremely hard sell to the American public. The war was explicitly conducted to help Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu's political career.
The war is going anything but swimmingly. At least during the second Iraq War, America was winning at a point. In Vietnam, America was winning at a point. Iran called America's bluff, and America lost the game of chicken.
The war is existential for Iran. They've been preparing for this since 1979; “death to America” isn't just an expression; it's a way of life. America has geared up to face Russia/the USSR and China, not a mountainous hermit kingdom with leverage over the world economy.
Furthermore, Donald Trump in his 2nd term is the most zionist president in US history. That comes at a time when “zionist” is now a slur to many, and on both sides of the aisle, anti-Israel sentiment is at record levels.
Greenland was a bust. Venezuela had no clear reward. Iran was a generational error. Europe is pissed. Canada hates America more than ever. Cuba is outside America’s reach after these midterms.
America has never been such a joke on the global stage. Rather than restore prestige, Donald Trump has damaged the American empire more in 2 years than the USSR could in 40.
Dull Domestic Policy
On domestic policy, I'm not sure what the Trump administration and the GOP were thinking. The one real shot Donald Trump had was giving away the 5k checks, or even a smaller amount, pre-election.
Under Joe Biden, Republicans rallied around “inflation.” Overnight, the GOP returned to the Tea Party days. Now, when an even worse hand is dealt, there’s no good counter.
Holding the midterms for economic ransom insults the American public; it simply doesn't work that way when you have power. You reward people, then they reward you; it's like your boss neglecting to pay you outright because you only finished 95% of the paperwork.
Affordability isn't even a concept in Republican circles anymore, let alone serious measures for jobs or homeownership. Pro-family policies encouraging birthrates don’t exist.
Nearly 30% of homeowners spend 30% or more of their income on housing. That’s classified as “cost-burdened.” The share spending half or more rose to 12.4% from 11.8%; that’s no different than third-world conditions.
AI is taking people's jobs, and there's no counter. The only supposed relief, returning a small portion of the profits to the people- dollar store communism- isn't due until mid 2027 or later.
Republicans sided with AI data centers, flock cameras, and job-stealing AI that corrupts the old and young. Despite what many influencers will tell you, data centers are about 43% points underwater within the GOP, and 75% oppose them being built in their communities.
These political lobbies have become synonymous with how “big tobacco” was seen in the 2000s and early 2010s. Regardless of your opinion on each, these are universally hated ideas in American politics.
So many campaign promises, or promises made on day 1, have gone unfulfilled. Off the top of my head, the DOGE checks never existed, nor did the tariff checks.
The tariffs themselves got resoundingly repealed. Companies raised their prices, then, when all was said and done, the tariffs were repealed with a massive refund. This was one of the largest transfers of wealth to the upper class in human history.
On mass deportations, the messaging has been unclear, and the political salience is extremely questionable. I personally support mass deportations fully, but I acknowledge that even if they have broad support, it's more of a bonus than a short-term political factor.
One thing often forgotten is Donald Trump’s signs while on the campaign in 2024: “MASS DEPORTATIONS NOW!” Not mass deportations 3 years in.
The specter of a looming invasion energizes the voter more than bureaucratic machinations. That reality really sucks.
Let's say the mass deportations are fully happening, fully on schedule, and so on. Alright, at best, that's a short-term harm to the economy for long-term benefit.
Getting rid of illegals and H-1 B workers has essentially 0 direct impact on the American people's wallets without other policies in play. The fruit on the trees goes unpicked because the low wages aren't enough for the grueling labor.
Farmers are already almost bankrupt. Just going “pay the workers more” means nothing when you're barely breaking even, taking out large loans, and raising prices makes you uncompetitive globally.
In 2025, farm bankruptcies increased by 46%. Since then, those rates have increased another 19%. Farming is a dying industry, and Iran-induced fertilizer price hikes are having serious consequences. It’s no wonder the Democrats won the Midwest so easily.
I’m not pro-illegal immigrant labor. However, expecting things to “work” without government intervention in a failing system is how you destroy it. Good policy is multi-faceted.
The agriculture system was already broken. Adding harsher conditions without any safety net kills hundreds of farms and further centralizes it into too-big-to-fail mega corps.
Repealing the CHIPS Act is a disaster. It was one of the first industrial policies America had implemented in decades, particularly in a key field. Even if you disagreed with the specifics, we need more industrial policy, not less.
Investing that money back into Intel was a horrendous move. It didn't scale to boost chip manufacturing; it boosted the share price of a 3rd-rate joke of a company that’s failed to stay relevant for two decades now.
Fundamentally, the Trump admin has utterly failed to present a coherent industrial policy. The free market simply doesn’t work anymore.
We Aren’t Charlie Kirk

The less said about this unforced error, the better. Some absolutely genius consultant opted to go with the “they shot Charlie Kirk, vote GOP” line. TPUSA boosted it, and so did most conservative influencers.
That leaves me with only one question: God, why? Why campaign on this?
This was clinically insane in so many ways. Firstly, Charlie Kirk died over a year ago; as grim as that is, most people have moved on. That’s a grim aspect of life.
Secondly, what do you think happens if the Republicans lose? That would instantly destroy Charlie Kirk's legacy, since all his top supporters have tried to graft their souls onto an election. Maybe Charlie wanted that, but it was still a poor move.
When your premise is “they shot Charlie Kirk, if that doesn’t get you to the polls idk what will,” it means nobody cares if you lose. It’s a perfect way to rebuke yourself and Charlie. Have some self-awareness.
Seeing Donald Trump Jr. trotting around Charlie Kirk like a puppet is objectively repulsive. It turns Charlie from a real man, a father, and a husband into a character. It’s not dissimilar to the left making memes about Kirk.
Thirdly, the message here is anti-safety. Effectively, the idea is that if the GOP can’t win, you’re going to get murdered like Charlie Kirk. What voter does that appeal to? It’s like being forced at gunpoint to vote, but in a very uncompelling way.
This isn’t even getting into the tragic death of Charlie Kirk supporter Colin Sharpe. Many across MAGA decided to celebrate his death weeks before the midterms. Why would anyone vote for Charlie if you celebrate his Young White supporters being killed?
Nihilism - MAGA’s Double-edged Sword
Nihilism is an interesting concept; it essentially means “life has no meaning.” In politics, it embodies an anti-system mentality, basically “let’s burn it all down!”
There’s this idea that anyone opposing MAGA is a nihilist. This is a very dangerous argument that undermines MAGA.
To address this off the bat, there’s nothing wrong with nihilism. Nihilism is a perfectly genuine political perspective, but it comes with certain obligations. MAGA attempting to discredit nihilism as a perspective is like pouring water on the embers that forged MAGA.
The very basis of MAGA, why everyone was attracted to it, was, in fact, nihilism. The government is corrupt, the swamp must be drained, and it’s a rigged system. MAGA represented a darker view that opposed the liberal Zeitgeist; our resentment was genuine.
MAGA opposed the Republican elites who saw America as merely an economic zone. MAGA also opposed the liberal elites who believe the end of history has arrived and that we were destined for another 20 years of uncontested leftism.
This idea tacitly accepts that MAGA is the system, arguing that any opposition to it is an attempt to “burn down the system.” Wait a second, I thought MAGA was opposed to the system; now it is the system?
In this sense, nihilism is both MAGA's strength and its weakness. It’s a “permanent revolution,” much like Trotsky envisioned.
This is what started MAGA, an anti-system mentality that held rebellion in its heart. When you come to represent the system, that dynamic changes.
The same nihilism that gave MAGA strength now undergirds its weaknesses. The very sword MAGA used to carve up the liberal elite has been turned upon them as their vision doesn’t come to fruition.
That’s neither here nor there, but it is a factual reality. Starting a revolution is easy; winning it while holding onto your deeply held principles is hard.
What’s worse is when people, such as MAGA faithful like “bumbadum,” write essays lecturing the youth about their nihilism. Do anti-MAGA or groypers have nihilism? Perhaps to some extent, but that doesn’t define their worldview or why they disagree with MAGA.
You don’t appeal to nihilists by calling them incels, losers, and freaks. Does this sound any different than a left-wing snowflake writing about the chuds?
Winners don’t write like this. It reads like a sore loser.
This attempt by the self-proclaimed "adults in the room” to lecture on how “they’re the adults in the room” is transparent. The bitter condescension in blaming the youth for your own failures is a recurring theme in history, but an eternal mistake.
This is exactly the problem: MAGA has failed to work with the youth—the groypers, the right-wing radicals, the White nationalists, the hard right critics of MAGA. All of these groups have been neglected, so true coalition building is next to impossible, and telling them to submit won’t work.
Particularly for me, the reason I fell in love with MAGA was the nihilism. It was beautiful; a true response to modernity. Now, MAGA is terrified of embracing that.
Groypers, regardless of what you think of them, are motivated by the opposite of nihilism: existentialism, hope, and a belief in God. They don’t want to burn the system down; they want to build it up under their auspices.
Gropyerism is tied to youth; the idea is that as groypers rise the ranks, they will gain institutional leverage over time. This is the opposite of disaffected nihilism that rejects the system entirely. It works within the system.
That’s not to say nihilism has no place, but it must be met with a positive vision. This is what MAGA tragically lacks; it’s so gungho on destruction, but lacks a true expression of how it benefits the American people, Western civilization, and the spirit of humanity.
This is evidenced by MAGA doing this nihilistic blame game; it cannot embrace itself, for it would be an empty husk ideologically. As a result, MAGA comes across as cynical, haphazard, and shallow.
The solution isn’t “more nihilism,” but a true justification for nihilism: a holistic, balanced worldview. The revolution is more within ourselves than against our enemies.
It’s about becoming who we are. It’s about not caring. It’s about being a locked-in, cool White guy.
The Painful Death Of MAGA
Everything has been blown. MAGA talked smack for years, doxing and going after anyone opposing them. Then, when push comes to shove, their influence dries up.
Even “rising star” JD Vance had his pitiful political career implode overnight, with him taking the metaphorical bullet for failed presidential candidate “Robot” Marco Rubio. How kind!
I have to say, I feel bad for just how things have gone. I tried to save you all, but the future refused to change. It is what it is.
Don’t be shocked when the monster you created comes for you. Young White guys wanted to help, and you spat in their faces because their politics were a bit too unsavory.
Now, you’re not just locked in the cage with 1 rapist, but two rapists going from both sides. My advice is: get some Vaseline. You just justified years of counterattacks, years of return fire, and years of legal persecution from the Democrats.
If you beg for mercy, you may get let off easier. The problem is, with your behavior, you’re due for some payback, whether you like it or not.
All Trump had to do was sign those 5k checks.

In summary, republiwimps failed to deliver (their uniparty standard) while Tromp openly switched his allegiance to a foreign power.
Great stuff.
